#Unlocktober 2019

AbleGamers does yearly fundraising events that pull the gaming community together towards a common goal. This past month we launched the event Unlocktober that resulted in our best October yet!

The gaming community did an amazing job fundraising with totals of over $132,000! Hats off to everyone involved in the event planning and spreading the word. This helps with bringing a bit of happiness back into many people’s lives as they interact through gaming with their friends and family.

Here are just a few highlights from Unlocktober:

* 505Games – Raised money for us as they launched their Indivisible stream!

*SayHeyRocco – This cat and his community did an amazing job raising over $11,000 all month long on horror games and Sea of Thieves.

*Freyline – Gathered the entire Sea of Thieves community for a 24 hour server takeover that raised over $10,000!

*PatrckStatic  – Raised over $6,000 with his community this month.

*BlindGamerSteve /TheTeeMonster – With their communities on Mixer and Twitch they raised over $5,000 while playing Destiny 2’s Shadowkeep.

With your donations we’re able to push more grants and ship out accessible controllers for gamers across the world. Past donations have helped gamers like Steven Paschall. We’ve also had the opportunity to install Expansion Packs to hospitals and other healthcare facilities! Our most recent Expansion Pack was at UPMC Mercy hospital in Pennsylvania.

Though Unlocktober may be over, you can still create campaigns and plan your events accordingly through the AbleGamers’ Tiltify page. There are also other ways to give to the charity. Along with creating your own campaign page, you can order and wear your very own AbleGamers apparel, showing it off to you friends and family! 100% of donations are tax-deductible. Your event doesn’t need to be done online either. Maybe you’re into board games or a pro at Magic The Gathering. Gather your friends and everyone can pitch in! Enjoying the company of your friends whether online or off, you can have an impact on the cause and have a blast while doing it! There will always be someone that could use your help to get back into the game.
